A sublime performance of Brahms' perennial work, performed by the combined forces of Herreweghe, Ilse Eerens, Andrew Foster-Williams, Collegium Vocale Gent, Accademia Chigiana Siena and the Orchestre de Champs-Élysées in a beautiful church setting. The reverberation may be to long and thick for some, but the performance will not let you focus on such trivialities.
This was the opening concert of the 2011 edition of the Chopin and His Europe Festival.
The cast:
Ilse Eerens – soprano
Andrew Foster-Williams – baritone
Collegium Vocale Gent
Accademia Chigiana Siena
Orchestre des Champs-Élysées
Philippe Herreweghe

Quite a long return period on that wave, Sandflyer, but glad to see you here again. :)
Thanks very much for this.
